Light is life

What is light is life?

Kinza’s mission is called “light is life”. We donate $1 USD from every purchase to support our initiative of lighting up communities surviving without electricity and where grid electrification is not going to reach in our lifetimes. Our donation provides light to communities in need and furthers the global Sustainable Development Goals – making the world a brighter place for us all. More solar means less dirty, dangerous, and expensive kerosene, which equates to improved health, safety, and wellbeing. It also leads to enhanced economic stability and reduced carbon emissions.

Did you know that 600 million people in Africa live without access to electricity?

When the sun goes down, businesses close, streets grow dark, and homes are lit with dirty, dangerous and expensive kerosene lamps which are responsible for high rates of childhood burns, respiratory infections, poisonings, and house fires.

How do we provide solar lights to Africa?

We are delighted to say that we support an international organisation called Solar Aid (Charity No. 115960) which is a leading international charity that provides access to clean, affordable solar lights. They reach the most remote and disadvantaged communities in Sub Saharan Africa to create sustainable markets for renewable energy so no one is left in the dark.
